Kunsthuset Kabuso ....EITHER WAY - an exhibition by the artist group TEMP
The artist group TEMP shows a city-specific exhibition concept in the two buildings.
Heidi Bjørgan, Ruth Moen, Anne Helen Mydland and Anne Thomassen present sculptures and spatial installations that respond to the work of Ingebrigt Vik and the architecture of the city.
About Temp: Temp has worked together as an artist group since 2000. The group ran Gallery Temp in Bergen for two years and has since curated a number of exhibitions. In recent years, they have produced exhibitions together. Temp has always challenged the gallery and display space with works that are based on the specific room it is shown in. In the Kabuso and Ingebrigt Vik Museum, they get the chance to explore institutional art and architecture in a large format.
In the autumn of 2013, the group was invited to do an exhibition in Kunsthuset Kabuso and Ingebrigt Vik museum. Temp has developed an exhibition concept that works city-specifically. The starting point is the artistry of Ingebrigt Vik.
About Ingebrigt Vik (1867-1927): Vik is considered one of the foremost sculptors in Norwegian art history, and worked at the same time as Gustav Vigeland. Among Vik's best-known works we find Ynglingen and Edvard Grieg. Vik had a solid craft background which the artist group Temp finds interesting and will highlight in the exhibition. Temp also creates new lines between the distinctive museum building from 1934, designed by Torgeir Alvsaker, and Kabuso.
About the exhibition:
In the exhibition ...either way - you will see a combination of joint works and independent work from each individual artist. Based on ceramics and clay's tradition, history and craftsmanship, creating itself is central.
The exhibition seeks to shed light on Vik's work by examining his long road towards artistry as a sculptor. Through joint work, the focus is on the processes that Vik has used.

Heidi Bjørgan, Ruth Moen, Anne Helen Mydland og Anne Thomassen presenterer skulpturar og romlege installasjonar som responderer på arbeida til Ingebrigt Vik og arkitekturen på staden.
Om Temp: Temp har arbeidd saman som kunstnargruppe sidan 2000 Gruppa dreiv Galleri Temp i Bergen i to år og har etter dette kuratert ei rekkje utstillingar. Dei siste åra har dei produsert utstillingar saman. Temp har alltid utfordra galleri- og visningsrommet med verk som tek utgangspunkt i den spesifikke rommet det vert vist i. I Kabuso og Ingebrigt Vik Museum får dei høve til å utforske institusjonell kunst og arkitektur i stort format.
Hausten 2013 vart gruppa invitert til å gjera ei utstilling i Kunsthuset Kabuso og Ingebrigt Vik museum. Temp har utarbeidd eit utstillingskonsept som fungerer stadsspesifikt. Utgangspunktet er kunstnarskapen til Ingebrigt Vik.
Om Ingebrigt Vik (1867-1927): Vik vert rekna som ein av dei fremste bilethoggarane i norsk kunsthistorie, og virka samtidig med Gustav Vigeland. Mellom Vik sine mest kjende verk finn vi Ynglingen og Edvard Grieg. Vik hadde ein solid handverksbakgrunn som kunstnargruppa Temp finn interessant og vil belysa i utstillinga. Temp skaper óg nye linjer mellom den særeigne museumsbygninga frå 1934, teikna av Torgeir Alvsaker, og Kabuso.
Om utstillinga:
I utstillinga …either way – vil ein sjå ein kombinasjon av felles verk og sjølvstendige arbeid frå kvar enkelt kunstnar. Med utgangspunkt i keramikk og leira sin tradisjon, historie og handverk vert sjølve det å skapa sentralt.
Utstillinga søkjer å setja lys på Vik sine arbeid ved å undersøka den lange vegen hans mot kunstnarskapen som bilethoggar. Gjennom fellesarbeid vert fokus sett på prosessane som Vik har nytta seg av.
